On House of Cards' Twitter account today, Netflix confirmed the premiere date for the show's third season. House of Cards will be returning on February 27, 2015.
The tweet says "A special message from the White House." And it contains a 12-second video shot from what looks like the inside of Air Force One. Out of a window, you can see Francis Underwood and his wife, Claire Underwood, now newly sworn-in president and first lady, as they are boarding the plane.
When House of Cards debuted in February 2015, all of the episodes release at once, perfect for binge watching. The second season released a year later, again with all episodes (as Netflix does with their own series). The third season has a lot of loose ends to tie up after the season 2 finale cliffhanger. And I wonder if season 3 first episode will be as shocking as season two's.
I guess we'll find out on February 27, 2015.
