How Beyond: Two Souls differs from Heavy Rain

Beyond: Two Souls and Heavy Rain, two games from developer Quantic Dream, are undoubtedly similar. Having already played Heavy Rain (and currently in the process of reviewing Beyond), the similarities are quite noticeable. Both have a heavy cinematic approach to emotionally-driven narrative; both have fairly simplistic control schemes; and both feature cutting-edge performance capturing and deep character development.

But despite their core similarities, Beyond: Two Souls is not merely a clone of Heavy Rain. And Quantic Dream co-CEO Guillaume de Fondaumiere has explained how the two games differ in a new developer interview with PlayStation Blog.

Look out for GameZone's full review of Beyond: Two Souls on Tuesday, October 8th — the same day the game releases exclusively for PlayStation 3.
