If you were to search for porn on your Xbox One, PC or PlayStation 4 – you wouldn't be using YouTube. The video player and porn simply don't mix. It is made very clear in the YouTube policy that, "sexually explicit content like pornography is not allowed. Videos containing fetish content will be removed or age-restricted depending on the severity of the act in question."
There are three exceptions, "educational" videos, "artistic" videos and porn that has been hidden via the Irish language, Gaelic.
YouTube uses an algorithm to remove any videos that violate their policies. If that fails they rely on people. An Irish Journalist Maitiú Ó Coimín's (the whistleblower) flatmate was searching through YouTube using the Irish language. What he found was "about 15 to 20 films of a questionable nature." All of the films were uploaded on the same day, by different accounts all featuring the same profile picture. Maitiú Ó Coimín must have been curious enough to watch a one of the films (or two) because his statement to BBC further verified the nature of the films:
These were real pornographic films.
Prior to incident, YouTube was unaware of the content; however, the site quickly took action after it was brought to their attention.
Next time try Elvish.
