How to freely preview the weapons in Star Wars Battlefront’s Outer Rim DLC

Star Wars Battlefront’s Outer Rim DLC launched just three days ago (at time of writing), bringing with it a raft of multiplayer functionality and content, which has invited mixed reception. Map variety is a particularly sticky sticking point among players, but most agree that the new weapons are satisfyingly Star Wars-y.

Thankfully, players who are only interested in new weapons can test them without actually buying Outer Rim. As reddit user camzabob noticed, all players can go hands-on with the DLC’s weapons in single-player mode.

Presumably, this includes the DL-18 and DLT-19X rifles, which are normally obtained via Hutt Contrats. However, players have yet to confirm the testability of the T-7 Ion Disruptor grenade, which is technically a powerup.

Naturally, players cannot step into the shoes of playable heroes Greedo and Nien Numb without picking up the DLC. For more details on Outer Rim’s content, have a look at its official patch notes.
