Nuketown Zombies, not the be confused with the Nuketown 2025 multiplayer map, is one of the most sought after game modes; however, Activision hasn't exactly been clear with its description and procedure for unlocking this mode.
To clear things up a bit, Nuketown Zombies is NOT the Nuketown 2025 multiplayer. Nuketown 2025 is a remake of Nuketown, the popular multiplayer map which first appeared in Black Ops. While it still offers close quarters combat, the map now represents a "Model Home for the Future" of 2025. It was available for free on November 13 to anyone who pre-ordered the game, purchased a launch copy, or purchased the Hardened edition or the "Care Package" limited special edition of the game.
Nuketown Zombies, however, is a totally different beast. This is a special bonus map for the Black Ops 2 Zombies mode. Confusing, I know.
The big question that remains is just how do you get this map? Activision hasn't exactly been clear on the instructions, but it's actually quite simple. First off, those who have already purchased the Collector's Edition version of Black Ops 2 should already have access to the mode. What if you only purchased the regular version of the game though?
The easiest way to get Nuketown Zombies if you only purchased the regular edition is to just buy the Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 Season Pass; it's that easy. The Season Pass, which is available for the discounted price of $49.99 (save $10), not only grants you access to the four upcoming DLC Map Packs, but also allows you to play Nuketown Zombies in the Survival Zombie Mode.
As I mentioned, Collector's Edition owners should already have access to it, but Nuketown Zombies will be available on Xbox 360 in December 2012 for those with the Season Pass. Those who purchased the Call of Duty Season Pass for PS3 and PC will get access to Nuketown Zombies at a later date. The exact date hasn't yet been revealed by Treyarch or Activision, but we assume sometime in January 2013 for PS3 and PC.
