It's well-known by now that the next Wolverine film will be the last time Hugh Jackman portrays the iconic Marvel character. At San Diego Comic-Con earlier this month, the legendary actor dropped a major bomb, suggesting his farewell film could be based on the Old Man Logan books.
Last night, however, Jackman took to Twitter once again to tease his #OneLastTime as Wolverine. He posted a photo of himself as Wolverine flipping the bird with one of his adamantium claws alongside a tweet that reads "My last time putting on the claws. What do you want to see happen? 50 words or less. I'll read as many as I can."
Speaking on the Dr. Oz show earlier this year, Jackman explained of his decision to move on from the role: "It just felt like it was the right time to do it. And let’s be honest, 17 years. I never thought in a million years it would last, so I’m so grateful to the fans for the opportunity of playing it."
Jackman also teased that the idea he had for his last film "is the perfect way to go out." For many, it was thought to be Old Man Logan, but this tweet might suggest the idea is not yet finalized.
The final installment of the Wolverine (with at least Hugh Jackman in the role) is slated to debut March 3rd, 2017.
