While Hugh Jackman was discussing the upcoming James Bond: Spectre movie on Australian TV, the actor sensationally revealed that he turned down the 007 role eight years ago.
Current Bond-man Daniel Craig, 47, recently announced that the upcoming Spectre movie could well be his last, which has left fans looking towards potential replacements.
Such speculation has led to Jackman being pressed on the role, to which he responded: "I sort of have [been asked].
"At the time I was just about to do X-Men 2 and I was like, 'Ah, I don't think it's the right time', but it was not an easy one to give up.”
The Sydney-born star might have turned down a previous chance to work as the iconic 007 character, however he remains firm that he would seriously consider the opportunity, if it was to arise again.
As previous mentioned, Daniel Craig has suggested that this latest Bond film could be the last that he works on, but it would seem his mind is still not made up.
Talking to Esquire this week, Craig said: “At this moment, no. I have a life and I’ve got to get on with it a bit. But we’ll see.”
It must be noted, Craig is on record on several occasions suggesting that his time with the Bond series is over, however he always seems to pull through and continue with his iconic role.
The latest addition to the James Bond series, Spectre, will feature a wide range of new actors such as former WWE star Dave Bautista, Christopher Waltz, Monica Bellucci and many others. The movie is expected to be realesed on October 26, 2015.
