Hunger Games actor to star as socially inept gamer in new HULU series

Janitor by day, world saver at night

Actor Josh Hutcherson, who starred as Peeta Mellark in The Hunger Games, has agreed to play a socially inept gamer in new HULU comedy series by Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg called Future Man.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Hutcherson will play a character called Josh Futterman. After being often sick as a child, Futterman took to video games. As a result, he now suffers from extremely low self esteem and can't talk to girls. During the day, he is employed as a janitor at a sexual disease research facility. At night, however, he is the number one world ranked played in Cybergeddon, a futuristic video game. After beating the final level one night, vistiors from the game's future seek out Future Man (Futterman's in game character) in order to use his expertise to fend off an alien invasion.

Hutcherson is not only acting in the series, but also co-producing with Rogen and Goldberg who are also directing the pilot. The script is still being written and no release date has been announced.
