Hyper Light Drifter will be making its console debut soon

Hyper Light Drifter is hands down one of the best Action RPG's of 2016 to date. To this point, it has been a PC exclusive, but it was known to be heading to consoles at some point later this year, but we just had no idea when. Now, developer Heart Machine has confirmed with Gematsu that Xbox One and PlayStation 4 players will be getting their hands on the game next week on July 26th, 2016.

Hyper Light Drifter originally released on PC back on March 31st of this year and accrued a total Metascore of 84 and casts the player in the role of a silent, sword-wielding protagonists who travels a vast world filled with technological ruins and danger. The game is entirely visual, carrying no spoken word of dialogue and relies on the player to interpret the meanings of character gestures and animations.

Here's the game's official description from its Steam page:

Echoes of a dark and violent past resonate throughout a savage land, steeped in treasure and blood. Hyper Light Drifter is an action adventure RPG in the vein of the best 16bit classics, with modernized mechanics and designs on a much grander scale.
Drifters of this world are the collectors of forgotten knowledge, lost technologies and broken histories. Our Drifter is haunted by an insatiable illness, traveling further into the lands of Buried Time, hoping to discover a way to quiet the vicious disease.
  • From each character to subtle background elements, everything is lovingly hand-animated.
  • Easy to pick up, difficult to master; enemies are vicious and numerous, hazards will easily crush your frail body, and friendly faces remain rare.
  • Upgrade weapons, learn new skills, discover equipment and traverse a dark, detailed world with branching paths and secrets abound.

Hyper Light Drifter will be available on July 26, 2016, for PS4 and Xbox One and will retail for $19.99.
