Hyperdimension Neptunia Re;Birth1 is coming to the US this Summer

If you're a gamer, like me, with an acquired taste for rhythm based games that star virtual Japanese pop idols and quirky anime games, today is a very good day. Not only did Sega announce that we'll be getting both console and portable follow ups to the pretty fantastic Hatsune Miku game, but we're also getting a remake of the first Hyperdimension Neptunia for the PS Vita.

Dubbed Hyperdimension Neptunia Re;Birth1, this portable remake of the first game thrusts players into the world of Gamindustri, a world populated by CPUs that bear a striking resemblance to popular video game consoles. That's right, this is an all out console war, packaged together into an anime JRPG.

Even though it's a re-release, fans and newcomers will be treated to extra content not found in the original game. The battle system gets an overhaul and is replaced by the much better combat system from Hyperdimension Neptunia Victory. There is also a completely new scenario as well as a new ending. The game also includes an all new Remake System, which lets players create unique items that can be equipped.

Hyperdimension Neptunia Re;Birth1 is currently slated to release in Summer 2014, with no specific date on the PlayStation Vita.
