Having just reviewed and immensely enjoyed the updated remake of Hyperdimension Neptunia, titled Hyperdimension Neptunia Re;Birth1 for the PS Vita, the announcement that a sequel is coming is exciting, though not that surprising. When you have a number in your title, and that title happens to be a remake of a game that's part of a series, it was only a matter of time until we'd see the continuation of Gamindustri's hijinks.
Hyperdimension Neptunia Re;Birth2: Sisters Generation is sequel that now stars the youngers sisters of the CPUs; the CPU Candidates. They'll have to team up in order to save their older sisters from the Gamindustri Graveyard after losing to ASIC.
Of course, the first game featured some great new updates to the gameplay like a much improved combat system and exploration mechanics. That all returns in the sequel, as well as the ability to now have four party members at once.
The Remake System also makes a return and will allow players to change up various aspects of the game, such as adding new dungeons, making them easier or harder, or even switching up attributes to the main characters.
Hyperdimension Neptunia Re;Birth2: Sisters Generation will feature both a digital and physical release in the US. European fans have been very vocal about getting a physical release since Re;Birth1 and Idea Factory's previous title, Monster Monpiece were only available as digital purchases. And their requests were heard as the game will be available in both digital and physical format in Europe as well.
No solid release date was given, however, fans can look forward to continuing their Gamindustri adventures in early 2015.
