Hyrule Warriors will reportedly release in Japan this August

One of the more bizzare and surprising announcements from a 2013 Nintendo Direct, Hyrule Warriors has a Japanese release date of August 14th.

The game is based upon the popular Warriors franchise, developed by Tecmo Koei. The twist, as you can imagine from the game's title, is that everything is Legend of Zelda themed.

This is the first information we've heard of the game in several months. Maybe there will be a coming out party at E3 next month? Who knows. I'll go out on a pretty big limb, though, and say that the game plays a lot like traditional Warriors games with familiar Legend of Zelda themed characters and locations.
