If you had any dreams of immersing youself in a world like Sword Art Online, your dreams might become a reality soon enough. IBM Japan has revealed plans for their virtual reality project, Sword Art Online: The Beginning.
The company does not plan on making this game the traditional way, there will be no controller or mouse and keyboard. The game will be controlled by moving your body. Sword Art Online: The Beginning is said to use a computing system called the "Cognitive System" that will support human decision-making, reports Gematsu. In addition to the Cognitive System, the game will feature “SoftLayer,” IBM’s cloud system that produces the ambiance of a real world.
According to Reiki Kawahari, the creator of the Sword Art Online series, IBM Japan's Sword Art Online: The Beginning is “completely different from any game experience so far.”
At the official website, IBM are taking applications until March 4 for a prototype alpha test to be held between March 18 and 20 in Tokyo. A total of 208 applicants will be accepted.
