As we approach the rumored time frame of the standalone Batman film to begin shooting, Ben Affleck has been a bit more candid on the upcoming project he's set to direct. According to our new Batman and director, Affleck will not "do" the film if it doesn't come together well.
When asked if he was on his way to directing the upcoming superhero friend with The Guardian, Affleck didn't seem so sure of the film.
“That’s the idea. But it’s not a set thing and there’s no script. If it doesn’t come together in a way I think is really great I’m not going to do it.”
While there's still hope for the film, despite some saying the film is a bit of a mess at the moment, Affleck has maintained (in past interviews) that everything was fine.
“We’re on the right track with that and everything is coming together. We’re still finishing up a script. I’m very excited.”
The thing is, saying "I'm not going to do it" doesn't exactly specify whether he means he won't be doing the film altogether or if he simply won't attach his name to it as director.
