Cleopatra
CAMBRIDGE,
MA (March 3, 2000) – Impressions Games(tm) and Sierra Studios(tm)
today announced worldwide Pharaoh Official Expansion: Cleopatra(tm)
(http://cleopatra.impressionsgames.com), 4 new campaigns for
their award-winning, strategic city-building game, Pharaoh. Scheduled for
release in July 2000, this official expansion pack will allow gamers to
experience the final years of ancient Egyptian
history through 15 totally new scenarios.

additions – new scenarios, industries, enemies, buildings, walkers, and
monuments – Cleopatra will thrill Pharaoh owners who can’t get enough of
the ancient Egyptian land. It also will let players access any Pharaoh scenario,
so even people that didn’t finish Pharaoh will be able to enjoy this spectacular
story of the Queen of Kings."
Pharaoh
Official Expansion: Cleopatra picks up at the end of the New Kingdom,
where Pharaoh left off. Players will be able to play 4 campaigns with
15 new missions, with challenges varying from building the Lighthouse at
Alexandria, to battling grave robbers, to joining Mark Antony in his battle
against Octavian. Now, players will sometimes be
able to carry over military troops and
personal wealth from one scenario to the next. New buildings,
industries, animals, enemies, decorations and monuments expand
the breadth of Pharaoh while maintaining the challenge and addictiveness.
It is being developed for Impressions Games by Maryland-based
Breakaway Games, who most recently developed Sid Meier’s
Antietam!
To
celebrate the announcement, Impressions Games will make available as
a free download the Pharaoh Enhancement Pack, offering gamers an editor
and a slew of new missions and features. The Enhancement Pack, not
to be confused with the recently announced Pharaoh Official Expansion: Cleopatra,
can be downloaded localized for each language version at (http://www.pharaoh1.com).
The Enhancement Pack includes a scenario editor,
allowing gamers to create and customize their own missions, a version
update, and twenty new missions from Impressions Games. The new
Enhancement Pack is Windows(r) 2000 compatible.
