Indiana Jones is heading back into theaters for the fifth installment in the series and yes, Harrison Ford will be in the film. After Disney opened up an Indiana Jones themed bar in Downtown Disney last year, we should have expected this.
THR is reporting that Steven Spielberg is returning to direct the untitled fifth film, alongside the iconic Indiana Jones star Harrison Ford. Barring any delays, the film is set to be released on July 19, 2019.
Whether or not Shia LaBeouf will be involved in the fifth film remains a mystery.
“Indiana Jones is one of the greatest heroes in cinematic history, and we can’t wait to bring him back to the screen in 2019,” said Disney chairman Alan Horn. “It’s rare to have such a perfect combination of director, producers, actor and role, and we couldn’t be more excited to embark on this adventure with Harrison and Steven.”
Leading up to this announcement, Spielberg teased the film saying that he'd 'probably' direct another Indiana Jones with Harrison Ford. The series producer even suggested that Ford would be reprising his role, saying "[But we are] not doing the Bond thing where we’re going to call somebody else Indiana Jones…"
Heck, even Ford himself stated he wanted to make another film.
