Indie dev recreates hilarious Cyberpunk 2077 PlayStation 1 demake

A talented internet user made a tribute to Cyberpunk 2077 in the form of a little YouTube video. But unlike proper tributes, this one doesn’t hold back on nudging the action-RPG for its buggy launch. Enjoy the entertaining video below!

The video linked above is the work of Anders Lundbjörk, an indie developer from Sweden. Apart from working on mobile games, Lundbjörk also shares his experiences with the world via Twitter and YouTube.

While his videos usually are on the informative side of things, he tried something different this time. And to great success! ‘Cyberpunk 2077 for PS1’ almost achieved half a million views already in just one week.

It’s easy to see why the video became such a social media hit. The attention to detail is astonishing. And no, we don’t mean on the technical fidelity here. Rather, it’s the implementation of some of the most hilarious bugs that emerged after the launch of Cyberpunk 2077.

Cars magically disappear into the void, NPCs react laughably bad only to transition into a T-pose, tree models behave erratically, and traffic AI is anything but intelligent. The awesome part here, all of those issues were widely showcased around the internet after Cyberpunk 2077 launched.

We don’t want to spoil the entire video, especially since it ends pretty funny. So, make sure to check it out yourself!

Lundbjörk really went all-out with his demake video. The indie developer even accounted for the PlayStation 1’s wobbly warping textures. Now, that’s dedication. Demakes aren’t that uncommon, and some content creators even made it their profession to create impossible ports for popular games. On that note, we highly recommend checking out 98DEMAKE on YouTube.

In the end, it’s all in good fun. So, even if you are one of the current-gen owners of Cyberpunk 2077, at least here’s a reason for a little laughter.
