In 2009, an obscure side-scrolling shooter launched on the Sega Dreamcast. That's right, people are still making games for that platform! Anyway, the shooter was called Dux, and it was well-received by gamers.
Here we are a couple of years later, and developers Rene Hellwig and KTX Software are working on a sequel. Redux: Dark Matters reached its Kickstarter goal of $25,000 and is now headed to a number of consoles including the Dreamcast.
The game will be available on Xbox Live Arcade, PlayStation Network, Steam, and iOS. As for the Dreamcast version, only 1,000 physical copies will be made, turning Redux on the Dreamcast into a real collector's item.
According to Joystiq, the developers are also working on porting the game to the 3DS and Vita. The more platforms, the merrier, right?
