Indie shmup Gunblitz will shoot its way to PC … and Ouya!

Indie developer Rapture Game Studios has confirmed that its very first title will be heading to the upcoming Ouya console. Titled Gunblitz, the game is a 2D space shoot 'em up reminiscent of classic retro shooters.

Rapture plans to release Gunblitz on the Ouya sometime in March. In the meantime, the game will come to the PC for gamers who don't want to invest in the Android-based console, or for those who want to get their shmup fix with Gunblitz a bit sooner. That version is due out this September.

Check out the trailer above for a look at the action. And if you want to get hands-on with Gunblitz, Rapture has a nice little demo available for download on its site. So yeah, I'm going to download that now and check the game out for myself.

May Gunblitz be the first of many shmups on the Ouya.
