Infinite Crisis shutting down this August

That was a short run.

Infinite Crisis released in late March of this year, and after just over two months developer Turbine has announced that game servers will be shutting down. The game will be free-to-play from today until server closure on August 14.

Any players that purchased either The Starter Pack or The Elite Pack are eligible to request a refund. Simple head to the Pre-Order Refund page on Steam and follow the steps to be on your way to a refund.

While Turbine didn't reveal the cause for closure, it is reportedly due to an inactive player base. Turbine thanked the game's community in their notice of closure:

"After much deliberation, we regret to announce the official shutdown of Infinite Crisis…This was an extremely difficult decision to make. On behalf of the entire Infinite Crisis team we want to thank all of you for your feedback, support and for joining together to create one of the best communities in gaming."
