Insomniac: No plans to release Sunset Overdrive on other platforms

With Xbox One exclusives like Ryse: Son of Rome and Dead Rising 3 eventually making their way to PC, some have wondered if Insomniac Games will follow suit with Sunset Overdrive.

The wildly entertaining, open-world third-person shooter was first released in October of last year exclusively on Xbox One, but in a recent post on the Insomniac Games website, site administrator Vitti confirmed, "We have no plans to release Sunset Overdrive on any other platform."

He added: "We also don't discuss contracts," suggesting there may be some sort of timed exclusiveness somewhere in the developer's contract with Microsoft.

If there is some sort of timed exclusivity agreement in there, it would likely only allow for a PC version as I doubt Microsoft would want its highly touted Xbox One exclusive on rival PlayStation platforms. Still, I'm sure there are many PlayStation owners with a PC who would jump at the opportunity to grind the rails in Sunset City.
