Insomniac shares lots of new Spider-Man: Miles Morales info

Developer Insomniac Games has penned a lengthy post on the official PlayStation Blog where they share lots of details about their newly unveiled standalone game Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales. Together with that information blowout we also got a new trailer where developers of the game explain how their PS5 game is going to stand out. Check it out below!

Insomniac truly blew PS4 owners away with the arguably most awesome video game rendition of everybody’s favorite friendly neighborhood spider back in 2018. The colossal success of the game left no doubt that it wasn’t going to be the end for Insomniac with Spider-Man.

But when Sony unveiled Spider-Man: Miles Morales during last week’s PS5 event, gamers were still stunned. Not only because the successor was focusing on fan-favorite Miles Morales but the game would be coming out so soon, this Holiday as a launch title for the PlayStation 5.

Hi! I’m Brian Horton, Creative Director at Insomniac Games. Last week, we were so thrilled to introduce you to the beginning of your Marvel’s Spider-Man journey on PlayStation 5 – Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales. This standalone game lets players experience the rise of Miles Morales as he discovers new powers that set him apart from his mentor, Peter Parker.

During all the excitement questions arose about the game’s nature. Was it a full sequel? A souped-up remaster? Insomniac Games has taken to these confusions and has shared lots of details about Spider-Man: Miles Morales today. For one, the game is a standalone experience that is comparable in scope to Uncharted: The Lost Legacy. So, expect a meaty game that is more focused but still features a full campaign and lots of things to do. We also learn that the game takes place one year after the events of the first Spider-Man game, during the Christmas season. What a fitting setting for its own release date!

Alongside this, Insomniac is also teasing that Spider-Man: Miles Morales will take full advantage of the PlayStation 5’s advanced technology. Instant loading, ray-tracing, and improved textures, models, and effects across the board are sure to make it the game to get with a new PS5.
