Insomniac’s Spider-Man game officially goes gold

It’s been four years since we got a Spider-Man game and roughly a decade since we got a GOOD Spider-Man game. Both of those things will seemingly change in just a little over a month with Insomniac’s PlayStation 4 exclusive game based on Marvel’s web-head.

Yesterday, Insomniac Games announced that Spider-Man has officially gone gold meaning it has passed certification from Sony and the game is complete. While Insomniac will likely spend the last month polishing the game through a day one patch to fix bugs and glitches, the core game has been onto a master disc which will be used to print retail copies now.

Insomniac celebrated the announcement with their own version of a classic meme from the 1960s cartoon which sees Spidey sitting at a desk with a framed picture of himself and the gold master disc.

With no more delays, it’s full steam ahead on the hype train for Spider-Man! The game will officially drop on September 7th, 2018 exclusively on PlayStation 4.
