Hitman fans, prepare to take up the guns of Agent 47 once again. IO Interactive has revealed info on Hitman: Absolution for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC. Though release and rating details are currently unknown, fans of the series can relax knowing that the developers plan to make Agent 47's return a big deal. According to IO Interactive, the game will be "built from the ground up," so gamers can expect new features as well as improved physics.
IO Interactive will be showcasing their new Glacier 2 technology in the game, leading to more cinematic gameplay and impressive cutscenes. The game's art style, gameplay design, and overall vibe will be revamped, stated IO Interactive. To the relief of longtime fans, the original spirit of the series will remain intact, albeit some necessary modifications to keep the game fresh.
Agent 47 will accept a brand new contract, and IO Interactive is hoping to make the silent assassin's upcoming mission his biggest yet. With no one to trust and everyone pursuing him, you can bet the famous video game assassin will have his hands full. Absolution marks a darker turn for the series, one where Agent 47 will have to watch his back more than ever before.
Be sure to check out the teaser trailer on the game's official site, though the clip doesn't reveal much. Also, keep an eye on Square Enix and IO Interactive when E3 comes around for more info. Those who attend the games industry spectacle in Los Angeles will have to be on Square Enix's list if they want to take a look at the game in action. Just what do the developers have planned for the next Hitman game? We look forward to finding out.
