iPhone Modder Creates Joystick for Tilt-Based Game

There are a lot of people out there that aren’t exactly fond of video games on the iPhone. This is due to the touch screen interface that doesn’t allow for any type of button or analog controls. Over the years we’ve seen modders create different joysticks for the device, but the one by Shane Wighton of Mechanically Inclined is pretty impressive.

Wighton’s video shows an iPhone placed within a case that’s attached to some equipment. Connected to all the machinery is a joystick that Wighton uses to tilt the case, thus tilting the iPhone in the process. This is definitely a cool joystick for tilt-based games as it allows for precision controls that should make getting high scores in games like Jetman and Squashem a completely different story.
