Iron Maiden debuts the gaming inspired video for Speed of Light

Iron Maiden just put out the video for Speed of Light, the first song off their new album, The Book of Souls, and it’s an absolute love letter to video gaming. Featuring the band’s mascot, Eddie, it’s a trip through the history of gaming.

Starting as an 8-bit blob of pixels and ascending buildings a la Donkey Kong, revisiting Streets of Rage, Mortal Kombat and even into Elder Scrolls and FPS territory. It’s a fun song, with a fun and cheeky video. The ending shot with its queue of arcade cabinets will make you nostalgic, for sure.

The Book of Souls releases on September 4th.
