In a recent interview, Shane Black, known to Marvel fans as the director of Iron Man 3, devulged that he would love to direct a Black Widow solo movie.
All the stars of this summer's The Nice Guys came out for its big red carpet premiere, including director Shane Black. The veteran film director devulged in an interview with GamesRadar+ that, despite the fact that Marvel doesn't seem to like to repeat directors (with the exception of the Russo Bros.) in an attempt to continue a tradition of involving fresh new ideas and perspectives to its intellectual properties, he would still love to be offered the chance to return and direct a Black Widow solo movie. When asked if Black Widow deserves her own movie, Black had this to say:
"Of course she does! Kevin [Feige] and the gang are gonna do that. I read it the other day that they're gonna make that movie and, god bless it, its gonna be great!"
While there's still no official confirmation from Marvel Studios as to when the Black Widow standalone movie is expected to begin production, its still one of the projects fans have been clamoring for since her first appearance in Iron Man 2. Her dark origins were touched upon briefly in last year's Avengers: Age of Ultron, but we still won't know for sure what direction they want to take the character until we start getting more concrete updates from the studio.
