Iron Man is only in “like five or six” scenes of Spider-Man: Homecoming

Five or six long scenes or short scenes...?

When the Spider-Man: Homecoming trailer released last week, it was filled with scenes of Tom Holland as Peter Parker/Spider-Man, Robert Downey Jr. as Iron Man, and Michael Keaton as Vulture. There was so much Iron Man in the trailer, that it was revealed that Stark's love interest, Pepper Pots, might even be making an appearance in the Spider-Man movie.

Some Spider-Man fans were concerned with how much Stark we would be seeing in Spider-Man: Homecoming. How could it be a Spider-Man movie (and not an Avengers movie) with so much Stark in the trailer?

According to producer Eric Carroll in an interview with Screen Rant, the trailer might have overstated how many times we see Robert Downey Jr. in the film. Apparently, Stark only appears in  “like five or six [scenes].”

Carroll went on to explain the relationship between Peter Parker and Iron Man in the film, equating to more of a big brother type relationship instead of a father-son relationship.

“I think we’re seeing the beginning of a sort of father-son relationship. Obviously Tony hasn’t got any kids, and Peter at this point hasn’t got any male figures in his life, so I think there’s a really lovely dynamic that Robert [Downey Jr.] and I are forming. And, no, let me take that back. I think Robert is more like a big brother than he is a father figure because he picks on him and he is down on him quite a lot. But then there is that level of him caring about him like his own, and Robert has really brought something lovely to the character. It’s a very different side of Stark than you’ve ever seen before.”

Spider-Man: Homecoming is set to release on July 7th, 2017 and no, Spider-Man won't be making an appearance in the Venom movie (at least as far as they say).
