It looks like Dishonored 2 is going to have a huge Day 1 patch

As we eagerly await the release of Dishonored 2, some have already started pre-installing the game only to discover a huge update that needs to be installed. The folks over at Press Start have done just that and revealed that Dishonored 2 will come with a Day 1 patch of about 9 GBs. Granted Day 1 patches are nothing new (neither is that size), but the fact that we are talking about strictly a solo experience is what makes the size of the update stand out.

Just for comparison's sake, Blizzard's Class-based Multiplayer shooter, Overwatch also had a Day 1 patch of the same size while The Evil Within had one that was 7.5 Gigs on Xbox One. It should be noted that Press Start was pre-installing the game on an Xbox One, so there's currently no definitive evidence that Dishonored 2 will need the same beefy update on PS4 or PC.

Dishonored 2 officially went gold exactly one week ago and is scheduled to release in three days on Friday November 11th.
