The PlayStation TV launched just a little over a month ago. With promises of extending gameplay to your TV, I was more than enticed to buy it, just for the sake of playing games like Persona 4 Golden and Sword Art Online: Hollow Fragment on my big screen TV. The former was amazing, but the latter actually didn't work right out of the box, despite already having compatibility in Japan.
I then turned to the official compatibility list that Sony put out, and decided to keep that bookmarked and check it on a weekly basis, just in case a game I had was actually compatible. This list would be especially handy since the PSTV allows you to download games it doesn't support, often wasting your time, only to tell you that the game isn't currently supported.
On October 23, the site updated, though it never highlighted new additions to compatibility. I was then left to go through the list and hopefully recognize games that weren't on the list before. However, prior to the site updating, I received a review code for Senran Kagura: Shinovi Versus. Since my curiosity got the best of me, it being a pre-release code, I downloaded it to my PSTV to see if it worked. And what do you know, it did. Of course when the site updated on October 23rd, I wanted to see whether Sony had added Senran Kagura as a compatible game. But they didn't.
Weeks later, Sword Art Online: Hollow Fragment was featured on the PSTV store as a compatible game. Awesome! Of course I was excited to boot it up, but I was curious to see if Sony had updated the page. Nope. Once again, the only update that remains is from October 23rd, the one that failed to mention the new compatible games.
It's now November 19th, since then, I'm assuming more games have become available, and even new games like Adventure Time: The Secret of the Nameless Kingdom and Freedom Wars have released, both which work on the device, but the site makes no mention of it.
It's frustrating for someone like me who happens to have a rather huge library of games, and would like to be easily notified when a game I'm waiting to play on the device finally becomes compatible. Come on Sony, step your game up.
