Earlier this week, there were claims that you needed an internet connection to be able to play the selected Games for Gold for Xbox One. However, it turns out that those claims were 100% false.
Cory Shultz of 4logpc.com has downloaded the two Games for Gold this month, Halo: Spartan Assault and Max and the Curse of Brotherhood, pulled the internet plug, and waited to see what would happen. As it would turn out, he's still able to play his games just fine.
It should be noted that you'll still need a valid Xbox Live Gold account; it's Games for Gold after all. But those whispers of an internet connection? Yeah, it turns out that they weren't true.
