Jak, Daxter, and Cole added to PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale roster

Over the weekend, Sony unveiled two (and a half) more characters that will be playable in upcoming mascot brawler PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale.

Jack and Daxter, from Naughty Dog's Jak and Daxter series, were announced, confirming previous rumors. Jak enters the fight with his traditional guns and eco powers, along with his fuzzy sidekick Daxter on his shoulder.

"Fans have enjoyed Jak and Daxter’s signature style and varied gameplay, so we considered them prime candidates for our game," said SuperBot Entertainment community manager Daniel Maniago. "Jak and Daxter are beastly on the Battle Royale battlefield; they’ve definitely been my go-to pair lately here at the studio!"

Jack and Daxter's arsenal of weaponry in PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale include the Blaster, Needle Lazer, Gyro Burster, and Mass Inverter. Jak also has the ability to unleash the powers of both Dark and Light Jak. Sidekick Daxter will also help with Jak's melee attacks.

The second character introduced was Cole MacGrath, the superhero or villain from inFAMOUS.

"Cole MacGrath proves to be an unlikely hero with extraordinary powers, so it made perfect sense to us for him to be in the ring alongside some of PlayStation’s heaviest hitters," Maniago explained.

Cole brings with him a wide variety of abilities from the inFAMOUS series. He's described as a "well-rounded fighter who is effective at both close and long range combat, and is highly mobile as well." Players can assault opponents from afar with his electrokinesis and cryokinesis, or get up close-and-personal with his excellent melee capabilities.

PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale is set to release on October 23, 2012, but remember to pre-order today so you can unlock skins for every character in the game. Sony and SuperBot insist they have further information to reveal, but didn't say if it will be more characters. With the addition of Jak, Daxter, and Cole, the PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale roster now sits at 12.
