James Bond 24 already planned for 2014

Skyfall isn't even out yet, and we're already getting details about the next Bond movie. I mean, I know that Bond movies will never stop being made — ever. But considering that there was four years between Quantum of Solace and Skyfall, it's a little surprising that the tentatively titled  Bond 24 is planned for a holiday 2014 release. What if Skyfall — however unlikely it seems — bombs?

At CinemaCon in Las Vegas, Sony President of Worldwide Distribution Rory Bruer said that the 24th Bond installment is coming in 2014. If they're going with a two-year cycle, I guess we could see the next Bond movie after that in 2016. Bond 24 is also the first 'optional' film for actor Daniel Craig. Just like other Bond actors before him, his contract had three movies and then first refusal at the fourth.

Skyfall, which releases November 9th, sees Bond's loyalty to M tested as her past comes back to haunt her. As MI6 comes under attack, 007 must track down and destroy the threat, no matter how personal the cost.
