Earlier in the year, it was announced that anyone who pre-ordered Hatsune Miku: Project Mirai DX in Japan would receive a free 3DS Theme, somewhat similar to the arrangement Nintendo put in place for Animal Crossing: Happy Home Designer. While SEGA couldn't replicate this offer in North America, they're still making it possible for Western fans of the series to enjoy a splash of colour on their 3DS Menu.
Ahead of the game's September release, a Hatsune Miku: Project Mirai DX 3DS Theme is being added to the Theme Shop in North America and will likely go for $1.99 like the SEGA 3D Classics Themes. It's not the same as Japan's incentive — especially since you have to pay for it — but maybe pre-ordering a cheerful face for the game's launch is a suitable alternative.
At the time of writing, today's Theme Shop update has only added 3DS Themes for BOXBOY and Etrian Odyssey Untold 2 (a second one to join last week's), so check back later in the week or monitor SEGA's social media channels for updates.
