Jeremy Clarkson hoping his new Amazon show ‘The Grand Tour’ will hit top gear

Former Top Gear presenter Jeremy Clarkson has finally announced that his upcoming Amazon Prime TV show will be called 'The Grand Tour.'

Clarkson, James May and Richard Hammond worked on the BBC show until March 2015, following an 'unprovoked physical attack on one of the show's producers,' which led to Clarkson's termination.

After his termination was confirmed by the BBC the broadcaster announced that Clarkson would not be able to work with another British broadcaster for the next two years. However, Amazon was an exception, and they quickly snapped up the trio.

Ever since Amazon announced that a deal had been struck for the production of a new show for the team, the project has been nameless, until today at least.

Clarkson, Hammond and May took to their Twitter accounts today to unveil the name, and it seems somebody isn't too happy about the new title.

Well, it looks like 'Captain Slow' has been left behind again with his terrible name suggestions. Shame.

The name itself, as Clarkson quite rightly pointed out, can be simplified to just GT, which is a possible suggestion that the presenter has been handed slightly more creative control on this project. After all, he does adore the Ford GT – looks like a nice personal touch.

The show is expected to release sometime this year but has not been given an official release date as of yet. For more details, click here.
