If you're like me and too old to stay awake for NBC's Late Night with Jimmy Fallon, then you missed last night's demonstration of the Xbox One. The show's fourth annual Video Game Week kicked off with a look at two games for the Xbox One: Killer Instinct and Forza Motorsport 5.
The adorably awkward Phil Spencer, Corporate Vice President of Microsoft Studios, joined Jimmy Fallon on stage for a live demo of both exclusive Xbox One titles. Unsurprisingly, Fallon laid the beat down on Spencer in Killer Instinct before tearing through the streets of Prague in Forza 5.
Okay, so some of it seemed a bit, ahem, rehearsed. I'm not entirely convinced he was even playing the games. But also notice how Fallon failed to mention any of the hot topics that Microsoft has faced with the Xbox One. In all honesty, the spot reeks of PR desperation, but what do you expect when a product is shown off on a late night show? They present it in the best possible light. At least it wasn't as awkward as some of those developer presentations at E3.
Video Game Week will continue throughout the week, with the PS4 making its debut on the show tonight with Knack. Throughout the rest of the week we'll see Ubisoft's Watch Dogs (June 19), Activision's Call of Duty: Ghosts (June 20), and Nintendo's Game & Wario and Super Mario 3D World (June 21).
Late Night with Jimmy Fallon airs at 12:35 a.m. on NBC. Of course, you can always check back at GameZone for a recap.
