Disney and Lucasfilm's have released a number of teasers (and only a few trailers) for the highly anticipated addition to the Star Wars franchise, Star Wars: The Force Awakens. There's something that has been missing from every trailer that has been released so far — Luke Skywalker's existence.
The Associated Press took to the GLSEN Respect Awards, tracked The Force Awakens' director JJ Abrams, and asked him the question we have been asking ourselves – Where is Luke? What happened to him? What does it mean?
According to Abrams, "These are good questions to be asking. I can't wait for you to find out the answer." Right so… there's a reason for Luke missing? "It's no accident," teased Abrams.
Thanks for the details Abrams, at least we know to expect something. In the trailers, we got a brief glimpse at someone with a mechanical arm touching R2D2's dome – we don't know who this person is, but it was rumored that it could have been Luke. Fortunately, we get to be surprised at his whereabouts in the theater… Unless the Internet spoils it before then.
