Job Listing Implies Atlus Developing “PS4 High-end Action Game”

Atlus recently posted a job listing on Japanese career site Creator’s Partner Fellows which suggests that Atlus is working on a “High-end action game” seemingly for the PlayStation 4.

The job listing is titled “Seeking 2D concept Design/Key Animation Talents! PS4 High-End Action Game.” It goes on to describe the position as “a job for the in-house team of a long-standing consumer game maker famous for its unique goddess (megami) and demon RPGs.”

It also lists the following duty descriptions:

  • A newly under-development PlayStation 4 project. We will tell you of the game’s style when you are interviewed.
  • As for the genre, it is a game that includes action-based battle elements.
  • “2D concept art production” is the main duty [for this job].

Atlus isn’t listed by name in the job posting, but its location is listed as Setagaya, which is where the Atlus Headquarters is located. They’re also the only company that fits the description of a “consumer game maker famous for its unique goddess (megami) and Demons RPG”.

Oddly enough, the job listing seems to have been removed. But the cat is already out of the bag. What is Atlus working on? Is it Shin Megami Tensei related or Persona related? Or is it something new entirely? The last action game from the SMT was Shin Megami Tensei: Synchronicity Prologue, which was a cute side-scroller featuring the studio’s mascot Jack Frost and his friend Jack Lantern made as an homage to the series.
