Joe Danger 2 is headed to consoles in September

[Update: Joe Danger 2 has not been officially confirmed for PSN at this time.]

Hello Games is releasing its sequel to 2010's Joe Danger this September.

Joe Danger 2: The Movie went gold yesterday afternoon. It will arrive on Xbox Live Arcade first and then PlayStation Network later on.

"When we heard the news that we'd gone gold, everyone was shouting and celebrating," Sean Murray of Hello Games told Eurogamer. "I felt really sad for a minute though and I couldn't figure out why. I think it's that Joe Danger is done now. We're not going to make another one.

"Don't get me wrong," he said, "I think this game is great, the best thing we've ever done and it feels like we finally nailed it. It's a huge game made by a small team. We owed Joe a great swan song, a game that hopefully people still remember playing in ten years time. I hope we've done that. Saying that out loud, I just remembered how I should go join the rest of the team to celebrate now."

The original actually launched on PSN before coming to XBLA as a special edition. A mobile version, Joe Danger Touch (for iPad, iPhone, and iPod) is expected to release this year.
