Hello Games is finally releasing its popular daredevil-stunt game Joe Danger on PC — three years after its original release on PlayStation 3 as a download title.
Joe Danger came to Xbox Live Arcade a year after it debuted on the PlayStation Network, and just this year, developer Hello Games built a version for iOS from the ground up appropriately called Joe Danger Touch.
The studio is also bringing Joe Danger 2: The Movie to PC as well through Steam, Valve's digital games-distribution service. The sequel is also available on PSN and XBLA.
Hello Games says these aren't simple ports. "Our rule is to always add something new," managing director Sean Murray wrote on the company's blog.
It's added new levels, gamepad and keyboard-and-mouse support, various graphics and resolutions settings, Big Picture Mode functionality, and "ghost recording" for both Joe Danger and Joe Danger 2 so you can race to beat other people's times.
Joe Danger also now has a "fully featured" level editor with integration with Steam Workshop.
"PC is actually Joe Danger’s birthplace," wrote Murray. "I coded my first ever PC engine when we started making the original Joe Danger back in 2009, and when we showed it off at game expos and to game journalists it was running on a PC we had to lug around. It’ll be so good to finally get to see Joe Danger released on the platform it was made on!"
Hello Games promises it has a few more announcements in store for these PC versions.
