Joe Manganiello doesn’t know if Deathstroke will appear in The Batman anymore

Last fall, Ben Affleck dropped a video that showed one of the coolest Batman villains, Deathstroke, walking around on a set. No one knew who was under the mask or why he was on a set because he hadn't been confirmed for any movies, but shortly after it was revealed that Joe Manganiello would be stepping into the shoes of the famous mercenary for The Batman.

Since then, Ben Affleck officially walked away from the director's chair for The Batman and rumors have come out stating the movie's script is being completely rewritten. If that's the case, it's entirely possible that Deathstroke will be written out of the script and another villain like Joker could come in and replace them.

Joe Manganiello has been very open about his role by talking about when the movie would begin shooting, how he's been preparing, and much more. Without a doubt, he was stoked to be in the movie but now… it sounds like he's hesitant to say much more.

When asked on Pittsburgh Today Live about if he'd appear in the movie, he replied with a very unsure answer. “Umm. Maybe. We’ll see.”

That's not very reassuring. Hopefully, director Matt Reeves, Ben Affleck, and Geoff Johns are just bouncing new story ideas off each other and will still keep Deathstroke in the script, but at the moment it sounds like Manganiello is being left out of the loop.

The Batman was originally set to begin shooting this year but has been pushed back to 2018 at the earliest meaning the movie probably won't release until 2019 if we're lucky.
