Some of you may remember Jon Favreau (director of 2016's The Jungle Book and 2014's Chef) appearing in a fairly minor role as Tony Stark's personal assistant, Happy Hogan, in the Iron Man trilogy. The character was mostly used for comic relief but he always managed to help out Tony Stark in sticky situations but he and Tony Stark's love interest, Pepper Potts, haven't popped up in the MCU since 2013's Iron Man 3. That may be changing soon though!
Variety reports that Jon Favreau will return as the lovable assistant in Spider-Man: Homecoming. It's unclear as to how large of a role he will play but he will most likely be at the side of Tony Stark since he is set to be in the wall-crawler's solo outing as a mentor to the newest and youngest member of the MCU.
Spider-Man: Homecoming has a star studded cast that ranges from Disney stars like Zendaya to legendary Oscar nominated actors like Michael Keaton. The film is set to release July 8th, 2017 and will see Peter Parker trying to balance the life of a high school student while being a superhero. The web slinger is set to go toe to toe with iconic Spidey villain, The Vulture, who will be played by Michael Keaton (who is no stranger to playing winged creatures). The Shocker and The Tinkerer are also set to appear in the film but it's unclear at this time how essential to the plot they are.
