Josh Brolin to Play Cable in Deadpool 2

After much debate, decision making, and probably Survivor-style elimination, an actor was finally cast as Cable for Deadpool 2. Josh Brolin was finally picked after much contemplation, according to Hollywood Reporter.

Producers have been searching for the right actor for months, with Michael Shannon (Man of Steel) and David Harbour (Stranger Things) making the shortlist. There were also rumors of Russell Crowe and Brad Pitt, but the role eventually found its actor.

Brolin is a somewhat surprising choice, not because he doesn't fit the role, but because he's already Thanos in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, which Deadpool 2 is admittedly not a part of. Hollywood Reporter claims his deal if for four movies.

Ryan Reynolds will obviously be reprising his role as Deadpool, with Zazie Beetz (Atlanta) taking the role of Domino.

Josh Brolin was nominated for an Oscar for his performance in 2009's Milk and is the lead in the upcoming Granite Mountain in September. He is repped by CAA and Ziffren Brittenham.
