The newest trailer for the upcoming Microsoft Flight Simulator is a great little nostalgia trip that covers the history of the venerable franchise. It’s still hard to believe but in less than a week, we’ll be at long last get the newest iteration of the Microsoft Flight Simulator. Despite the series being 38 years old, it has been a painful 14 years since the last entry.
Thankfully Microsoft has rediscovered MFS and given the reins to Asobo Studio. Everything we have seen so far points towards the French developer is a perfect choice. Not only is Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 looking sublime on a purely visual level but the amount of attention to detail is on a level never before seen.
Thanks to actual satellite imagery courtesy of Microsoft Bing, flight sim aficionados will be able to immerse themselves to the next level. With VR support confirmed to arrive later this fall as a free update. Owners of a VR headset could look at possibly one of the best reasons to escape reality.
Microsoft Flight Simulator launches next Tuesday on PC via Steam & Microsoft Store. You’ll have the choice between three editions ranging from $59.99 up to $119.99. Users who are subscribers of the Game Pass for PC will get free access for the Standard Edition right from Day-1. Arguably the best way to start out.
