JoWooD Entertainment Files for Bankruptcy

The icy cold hand of economic failure has gotten a hold of yet another video game publisher. The victim this time around is JoWooD Entertainment, publisher of the well-known Gothic and Spellforce action RPG franchises. A report on JoWooD’s corporate page announced that the company would be filing for “a procedure of capital reorganization”.

This wouldn’t be the first time the company’s had legal or monetary issues. In 2005, JoWooD attempted to end its partnership with Perception due to a dispute over the quality of their games. This triggered a series of events that culminated in JoWooD escaping bankruptcy.

This time around, though, JoWooD Entertainment wasn’t that lucky, and both creditors and investors are urged to get in contact and form negotiations with the company.
