It comes as no surprise that Ubisoft announced a new iteration in the wildly popular Just Dance franchise as part of their press conference at this year's E3. Especially now that the series has become one of the top music games in the industry, Ubisoft thought it time to commemorate this achievement with a new way to play.
Due this October, the Wii U, PS4 and Xbox One versions of Just Dance 2016 will feature a streaming service called Just Dance Unlimited, said to feature more than 150 of the greatest hits in Just Dance's library to the end of year-long content. Previous installments in the annual franchise introduced Community Remixes and the World Dance Floor, and now Just Dance Unlimited is another feature to add to their portfolio. Along with this, the team has worked in smartphone integration as a control method in lieu of camera functionality.
Interestingly, the most recent entry — Just Dance 2015 — had less support for regular add-on content than prior titles. Now that we know Ubisoft had a streaming service in the works, it makes some sense why they evidently were investing more capital into Just Dance 2016. Here's hoping they can bring the series back to its prime.
