Justice League confirmed to be 2 hours long

Not as long as we expected...

In just a few short weeks, DC will release their long-awaited superhero ensemble film known as Justice League. The film will bring together Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, The Flash, and Cyborg to stop Steppenwolf from destroying Earth. We have yet to get a proper introduction to Aquaman, Flash, or Cyborg so the movie will have to spend some time developing these characters and also explain their powers to those unfamiliar with the source material.

On top of that, directors Zack Snyder and Joss Whedon have to resurrect Superman, explain Motherboxes (the items that Steppenwolf is seeking out), and potentially set up future movies. That's a lot to tackle in just one movie! When Marvel's The Avengers came around, we were all familiar with the characters in the movie but here, we only know three of the six heroes!

With that said, it has been officially confirmed that Justice League will be two hours long. The news comes from theaters like AMC posting advanced ticket sales, to sell tickets you must have an official runtime so this is by no means a placeholder. The runtime may be surprising given the fact Zack Snyder typically makes pretty lengthy movies. It's possible that Joss Whedon chopped off some of the fat in the editing bay when he stepped in to finish post-production after Snyder's daughter passed away. Hopefully, the film can handle all of the things on its plate as fans are striving for a critically acclaimed movie in this series!

Justice League releases on November 17th, 2017.
