Justice League film casts J.K. Simmons as Commissioner Gordon

He'll always be Vernon Schillinger to me

The Justice League film has cast the role of Commissioner Gordon. Actor J.K. Simmons, known as the spokesman for Farmers Insurance and the Spider-Man films' Jonah Jameson, has landed the role according to The Hollywood Reporter.

He'll still always be Vernon Schillinger from Oz to me.

With Batman Vs. Superman: Dawn of Justice releasing on March 25th, the stage is set for a DC Comics superhero showdown. The Justice League film will begin shooting next month in preparation for its November 17, 2017 release.

Similar to Marvel's Avengers, Justice League will be released in two parts, with the second set for a 2019 release. DC is flipping the script on Marvel by releasing the Justice League movie prior to its individual heroes films. Wonder Woman, Aquaman and Flash will all be getting standalone films after Justice League. If you remember, Marvel released the individual hero movies prior to the Avengers.

Teaming up with Henry Cavill's Superman and Ben Affleck as Batman will be Jason Mamoa (Game of Thrones) as Aquaman, Ezra Fisher (Trainwreck, Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find them) as Flash and Ray Fisher as Cyborg. Green Lantern will also be joining the Justice League, but will not be in the first film as of now. We're still unsure as to who the main villain will be, but judging from early images from Dawn of Justice, we should expect to see Darkseid in a prominent role.

We'll have our impressions of Dawn of Justice up shortly after the film releases, so stay tuned. Who do you want to see as the villain in The Justice League? Let us know
