Kanye West is working on new game dedicated to taking his dead mother to heaven

Following in the footsteps of his wife Kim Kardashian, Kanye West is working on a video game. Unlike his wife's game, Kim Kardashian: Hollywood, there seems to be much deeper meaning behind Kanye's game which is based upon his song "Only One" — dedicated to his mother who passed away in 2007.

"I'm working on a video game for [my song] 'Only One,' and the idea is it's my mother going through the gates of heaven," Kanye explained during an appearance on The Breakfast Club radio show. "And you gotta bring her to the highest gates of heaven by holding her to the light. We've been working on it for like six months."

Admittedly, I'm not too familiar with Kanye or his work, but I'm pretty sure Only One is the song that helped spark unknown artist Paul McCartney's career.

Jokes aside, I know absolutely nothing about West's new game, but I like the premise — if only for the meaning behind it. We always talk about games as art. I don't know about the potential fun-ness factor of this type of game, but if it's meaningful to the person creating it then that's all that matters. I'm also pretty sure he's not making this for the money, but it's worth pointing out that last year, Kim Kardashian was on track to make an additional $85 million from her mobile game.
