Karl Urban appears to be slated for ‘Pacific Rim: Uprising’

An image from the set of 'Pacific Rim: Uprising' suggests Karl Urban is slated to appear in the film.

If you're one of the many who enjoyed 2013's runaway hit, 'Pacific Rim', then you're likely waiting in anticipation for its upcoming sequel, 'Pacific Rim: Uprising'. News and updates on the project has been few and far between, but so far, what we've received has been pretty enticing. We already know the script is being penned by 'Spartacus' helmer, Steven S. DeKnight, and will feature 'Star Wars: Episode VIII- The Force Awakens' star, John Boyega, as the lead.

Recently, we got a bit more of a tease as to who else might be making an appearance in the movie. An Instagram post from acclaimed cinematogropher, Dan Mindel, suggests that we might see some familiar faces return, as well as some new ones:

As you can see, it looks like Charlie Day and Burn Gorman will be reprising their roles as Newt and Gottlieb. Alongside the hilarious pair, we can see actress Cailee Spaeny is slated as a character called "Amara", as well as none other than 'Star Trek' star, Karl Urban, on the docket as someone with the last name "Quan", his first name obscured. Nothing has been confirmed yet, but this is a pretty clear indicator that Urban has some kind of involvement in the film. What that involvement could be might be revealed soon, so check back for more updates for the sequel.

The movie stars John Boyega, Charlie Day, Burn Gorman, Scott Eastwood, Cailee Spaeny, and Levi Meaden.

Pacific Rim: Uprising releases February 3, 2018!
